This is a continuation of The Teaching Company’'s video series taught by Prof. Daniel Robinson of Oxford University. Robinson provides challenging and provocative lectures followed by class discussion led by Jim Leschke. Participants receive outlines for all eight lectures in the series beginning with Aristotle and ending with Augustine.

Wisconsin Wines and Wineries: A Tour and Tasting

A discussion of the history of winemaking in Wisconsin as well as a visual tour of several of the best wineries in the state. Following discussion, there will be an opportunity to taste some of the best wines produced in our state. A $7.50 fee is required of each participant and must accompany your class registration to reserve a place.

Once again LIR's favorite naturalist Ced Vig returns to lead presentations and discussions of the wonders of the natural world found all around us during what is surely the most spectacular season of all. Liberally illustrated, and featuring frequent appearances by guest experts in the flora and fauna of the northwoods, this program is consistently the most popular one offered by our LIR.

Judaism


Rabbi Dan Danson

Dan Danson, the Rabbi of the Mt. Sinai congregation in Wausau, will present the history of Judaism and describe its practice in three sessions. Rabbi Danson has a B.A. (Hons) from Carleton University in Ottowa, Canada, and an M.H.L. from Hebrew Union College in New York. His ordination was also from Hebrew Union College. He has been the rabbi at Mt. Sinai Congregation in Wausau for 20 years. Mt. Sinai is the sole synagogue serving the Upper Wisconsin Valley and the Northwoods.
