Nursing Assistant Course Information



The Long Term Care (LTC) Nursing Assistant course at Nicolet Area Technical College is designed to meet the requirements of the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for nursing assistant training.

The long term care course offered by Nicolet is 120 hours in length. It consists of 80 hours of lecture and laboratory practice held at the Nicolet campus and 40 hours of clinical practice at an area nursing home.

Upon successful completion of the long term care course, students are eligible to take the acute care course if desired. This is a 60 hour course of instruction in intermediate level nursing assistant skills which prepares the graduate for employment in hospital settings.

tudents will be given materials to complete a Wisconsin Criminal History Record Request ( http://wi-recordcheck.org ) and a Health History form on the first day of class.
