Nicolet College offers a variety of programs to help students succeed academically. These include prep classes that get students ready for college classes, a number of different types of tutoring options to assist students already enrolled in college classes, and tutor training for those individuals looking to help others enjoy success in college.

College preparation courses are designed to help recent high school graduates and returning adults prepare for success in college level courses and programs. Classroom prep courses in reading and study skills, English, and math are offered on the Rhinelander campus and online. Math Prep is offered at the Lakeland Campus through ITV. Accuplacer scores are used to determine whether entering students need to take prep courses prior to beginning an occupational or University Transfer program. Students register through the Academic Advising Office before the semester begins.

The Nicolet College Peer Tutor Program provides free tutoring services for current students.Students may access one-to-one peer tutoring, attend study groups, or utilize the Drop-In Academic Support Center. Students who choose to offer tutoring services are paid for their efforts and are offered tutor training opportunities. Students enrolled in occupational programs or general education courses at Nicolet canwork individually with Basic Education instructors to strengthen their academic skills while they concurrently pursue career training.
