As part of GeoCinema’s award-winning film and lecture series from around the world, Rick Ray, a Lonely Planet backpacker turned cinematographer, writer and director, hosts a program that includes his full-length film about a journey he made to the monastery of the Dalai Lama, where he was allowed a 45-minute audience with the holiest man in the Buddhist faith. Ray soul-searched to ask questions the Dalai Lama would want to answer. The film weaves in a contemporary look at the struggles of the Tibetan people, their relationship with China and the amazing history behind the Dalai Lamas of Tibet.

Claudia Kincaid and her brother Jamie dash up the stone steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and right into the middle of an adventure that is sure to captivate children and the young-at-heart of all ages.
ArtsPower’s mission is to provide young people with the unforgettable experience of theatre that entertains, stimulates and educates, and through this experience foster sound moral development, encourage self-expression and ignite the desire to read. Appropriate for grades 3-6.

The Northwoods is rich in musical talent and you’ll get a sampling of its range and energy in one dynamic evening of performance by five local music groups: the Rhinelander Community Band, the Nicolet Male Chorus, the Nicolet Choraliers, the Hymns and Hers and the Lakeland Barbershoppers. Each group will take the stage to perform the highlights of its season’s repertoire. The music will be sweet and you’ll be smiling as your friends and neighbors entertain you with all their "heart and soul."

Mike Silverman of Berkeley, Calif., delivers a hip, dazzling performance with his huge, geeky-beautiful, handmade electronically-enhanced instrument that combines bass, drum and a mini-orchestra. A classically-trained bassist, Silverman played with the best during the progressive jazz scene of the ‘90s, but longed to get more "sound" out of his instrument—so he built his own.
