WXPR Concert Information
Folk and country blues musician Charlie Parr routinely is labeled "authentic" and "the real deal" by fans and critics alike. His lived-in rasp of a voice, National resonator and 12-string acoustic guitars and a banjo renders his own songs and well-traveled numbers by Mississippi John Hurt, Charley Patton and other cohorts with masterful feeling.
The Urban Hillbilly Quartet is an award-winning Twin Cities-based ensemble with seven albums to their name. Their mix of musical styles blends fiddle, electric guitar, accordion, bass and other sounds in a mainly original repertoire.

More about Eric Larsen
Eric Larsen’s favorite place on earth is the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, but he comes to Nicolet to tell us about July 2006, when he and a teammate made history by becoming the first people in the world to travel to the North Pole in the summer, and about his 2009 plans for a 365-day journey to both poles and the world’s "roof," Mt. Everest. This veteran explorer will talk about his adventures skiing to the North Pole, mushing huskies across the frozen tundra, his scientific data on global warming and his passion to "save the poles.
